Apple Cinnamon Waffles
Everyday waffles get a boost with apple juice, fresh apple and cinnamon.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) Tropicana Pure Premium® Apple Juice
- 1 cup (250 mL) grated apple
- 1 cup (250 mL) all‑purpose flour
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) granulated sugar
- 1 tsp (5 mL) baking powder
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp (1 mL) each baking soda and salt
- 3/4 cup (175 mL) milk
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) melted butter
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) whipping cream
- Maple syrup
How to make it
- Heat waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions.
- Using hands, squeeze excess moisture from apples. In bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda and salt. In separate bowl, whisk together milk, apple juice and eggs; whisk into flour mixture. Whisk in melted butter and fold in apples. Cook waffles according to manufacturer's instructions.
- Meanwhile, whip cream until stiff. Serve waffles with whipped cream and maple syrup.
